How We Communicate

HOW WE COMMUNICATE . . .

Parent Night Meeting (prior to the start of school) – A special informational meeting is held for Parents to review school policies and procedures, meet one another and answer questions pertaining to the year.  Parents then get the opportunity to visit their child’s class, meet the teacher, and learn about specifics of their child’s upcoming experience.

Lesson Plans Posted Weekly – Indicate the units of study and themes for your child’s class, and show how planned activities promote specific curriculum goals and growth areas.

Personal Communications – Conversations with teachers, take-home notes, e-mails, progress reports, and homework folders (K).  We welcome communication at any time regarding any aspect of your child’s day, growth or behavior.

On-Line Classroom Sites – Each class in our Pre-K and K have its own classroom site.  Parents and teachers establish secure access to the account. The Classroom Site is a valuable communication tool through teacher announcements and posts, photos, and volunteer sign-ups, to name a few.

Monthly Newsletter  – A monthly newsletter from the school office will give families a look at events from the previous month and general information about upcoming calendar items and events.

Snow/Severe Weather Closings or Delays  If it is necessary to close or delay our school due to severe weather, you can find notifications on Fox 8, WXII12, and WFMY News 2, our website, and the school telephone answering system.  Your teacher will also post severe weather notices on the class online or through text and email messages.
