HOW WE COMMUNICATE . . .

Parent Night Meeting (in August) – Parents gather to meet one another; teachers distribute Parent Handbooks and share plans for the year. Parents complete a “Let’s Get Acquainted” form for teacher’s better understanding of each child.

Lesson Plans Posted Daily – Indicate the units of study for your child’s class, and show how planned activities promote specific curriculum goals and growth areas.

Personal Communications – Conversations with teachers, take-home notes, e-mails, and homework folders (K).  We welcome communication anytime regarding any aspect of your child’s day, growth or behavior.

Shutterfly Classroom Sites – Each class has its own on-line Shutterfly Site. Parents use passwords (they create) to establish secure access to the account. The Classroom Shutterfly Site is a valuable communication tool through teacher announcements and posts, photos, volunteer sign ups, to name a few. In addition, a monthly calendar provides dates/times of daily activities, and sends e-mail reminders of recurring specials.  For example, “Have your child bring his/her show-and-tell tomorrow for letter P” or “Remember child’s lunchbox tomorrow for Lunch Bunch Day!”

Snow/Severe Weather Closings or Delays  If it is necessary to close or delay our school due to severe weather, you can find notification on Fox 8, WXII12, and WFMY News 2, and the school telephone answering system.
